Axis

Axis cameras configure FTP upload through their event system rather than a direct settings screen. Most models in the P, Q, M, and T series are supported.

Set up FTP on your camera

FTP is configured as an event recipient. In newer firmware (AXIS OS 10+), go to System → Events → Recipients → Add recipient → FTP. In legacy firmware, go to Setup → Events → Recipients. After adding the recipient, create a rule that triggers an upload on motion or a schedule.

Axis documentation

Folder name

Set Remote directory in the FTP recipient to a name like axis-cam. That name becomes the camera label in Lunetta. Use a different name for each camera.

Filename format

Axis cameras upload files named like:

axis_2026-06-04_14-30-22.jpg

Timestamp format is YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS. Lunetta recognizes this pattern and ignores any prefix before the timestamp.

Notes

  • If uploads fail behind a firewall, enable passive mode in the FTP recipient settings.
  • To get both a thumbnail and a video clip per event, create two actions in the same rule: one to send images and one to send a video clip.
