Settings
Settings are available at Settings in the navigation (admin only). Changes are saved per section — each section has its own save button.
General
Footage path
The absolute path to the folder where your camera uploads footage. This must match the FTP destination configured on your camera.
Example: /home/username/footage/
To change the path, click Change to open the directory browser. Navigate to the correct folder and click Select. Lunetta rescans the new path automatically after saving.
Timezone
The timezone used for displaying timestamps in the dashboard. Set this to match your local time so event times display correctly.
This does not affect the time stored in the database — it only changes how times are displayed.
Time format
Choose between 24-hour (14:30) and 12-hour (2:30 PM) time display.
Accent color
Choose from six color options for the interface accent color. The default is electric lavender.
Automatic cleanup
Trash after N days
Automatically move events to the trash after this many days. Set to 0 to disable.
Delete when storage exceeds N MB
Permanently delete the oldest footage when the total size of the footage folder exceeds this limit in megabytes. Set to 0 to disable.
Starred events are never affected by automatic cleanup.
Telegram notifications
Bot token
Your Telegram bot token from @BotFather. See Telegram notifications for setup instructions.
Chat ID
Your Telegram user ID or group chat ID. Notifications are sent to this destination.
Send notifications
Toggle to enable or disable Telegram notifications. When disabled, no messages are sent even if a bot token and chat ID are configured.
Send test message
Sends a test notification to verify your bot token and chat ID are correct. Save your settings first before testing.
Cameras
Shows all cameras Lunetta has detected — each subfolder in the footage path becomes a camera.
Rename camera
Changes the display name shown in the dashboard tabs. This does not rename the folder on disk.
Add camera
Creates a new subfolder in the footage path. Use this if you’re adding a new camera and want to create the destination folder from within Lunetta.
Delete camera
Permanently deletes the camera and all its footage from disk. This cannot be undone. A confirmation dialog is shown before deletion.
Footage scanning
Automatic scanning via lunetta.io
When enabled, lunetta.io pings your installation every minute to trigger a scan. This replaces the need for a server cron job.
Requires an active license and a publicly accessible server.
Toggle changes take effect immediately — no page reload needed.
Manual ping URL
A URL you can call from an external cron service (like cron-job.org) to trigger a scan. Useful as an alternative to the server cron job if you prefer not to use Lunetta Ping.
License
License key
Your Lunetta license key. Enter it here if you skipped license entry during installation or if you need to re-verify.
Status
Shows the current license status:
- Valid — license is verified and active
- Invalid — key not recognized or revoked
- Unverified — key has not been checked yet (or no key entered)
Verify now
Triggers an immediate license check with lunetta.io. Use this after entering or changing a key.
About
Shows the installed version of Lunetta and a link to the changelog. If a newer version is available, a download link is shown.
Danger zone
Reset index
Clears the event database. All footage on disk remains untouched — only the Lunetta index is cleared. The next scan re-indexes everything from scratch. Use this if the index has become inconsistent with what’s actually on disk.
