Dashboard
The dashboard is the main view in Lunetta. It shows all indexed footage as a thumbnail grid, grouped by date with the newest events at the top.
Browsing events
Each card in the grid shows a thumbnail, the recording time, and the camera name. Click any card to open the full-screen viewer.
Camera tabs
If you have multiple cameras, use the tabs at the top to filter by camera. The All tab shows footage from every camera combined.
Filtering
Use the filter bar to narrow down what you see:
- Type — video only, photos only, or both
- Starred — show only events you’ve starred
- Labels — filter by one or more labels (see Labels & search)
Filters are remembered across page loads.
Load more
The dashboard loads events in batches. Scroll to the bottom and click Load more to fetch the next page.
Watching footage
Click any thumbnail to open the viewer. The viewer plays video files directly in the browser — no download needed.
Viewer controls
- Close — click the × button or press Escape
- Previous / Next — press the left/right arrow keys on desktop, or swipe left/right on mobile
- Labels — add or edit the label directly in the viewer footer
- Star — mark the event as important (starred events are protected from automatic cleanup)
- Download — save the file to your device
- Share — on supported devices, opens the native share sheet
- Trash — move the event to the trash

Selecting and bulk editing
Hover over any card to reveal the select button (checkbox icon in the top-right corner). Click it to select that event. You can select multiple events and then:
- Label — apply the same label to all selected events
- Download — download as a zip file
- Trash — move all to trash
Click Select all in the bulk bar to select everything visible on the page.
Scanning for new footage
New footage is picked up automatically if you have a cron job or Lunetta Ping enabled. To scan immediately, click Scan now in the top-right corner of the dashboard.
New event badge
Events that appeared since your last visit get a New badge on their card. The count is shown in the navigation as well.
Starring events
Click the star icon on any card or in the viewer to star an event. Starred events:
- Are excluded from automatic cleanup (both auto-trash and auto-delete)
- Can be filtered for quickly with the Starred filter
